I have seen one case where the doctor writing it up thought that might have happened, but no proof it did. A woman who did IVF was told by blood test after the two-week wait that she was not pregnant, and she says she and her husband did not then have sex, and two weeks later, there was an embryo. The doctors who wrote up the story apparently believed the woman about not having sex. Also, the baby was two weeks later by its measurements than it would have been if it had been the embryo from her IVF; the doctors took this to mean that it had been in some kind of suspended animation and had not developed for two weeks. There is no other report anywhere in the literature of some kind of suspended animation - delayed implantation happening in humans, and with millions of IVFs done by now, I would think it if was a common phenomenon, it would be seen in the closely monitored IVF pregnancies. I mentioned it to the guy with the wife with a suspiciously late pregnancy only because sometimes the dates in the stories on DNA Paternity are not exactly correct, and if a man is going to demand a DNA test regarding a baby from his wife, he had better do so in a nice tone of voice lest he later have to eat his words. I don't think it has any implications for you.
I previously deleted my account because I am trying to move on, but periodically come back and read other answers. I discussed with you the possibility of an encounter for Jan (18) contributing to my current pregnancy. I am due Nov 12 and have had this due date verified with ultrasounds at 7, 11, 14,19, 21,26, & 31 weeks. I had partner on Jan 18 and another one all of Feb. I have also heard you reassure women in the same situation as myself and say that guilt is most likely what is plaguing us - which I totally agree. Now your comment about the study where an embryo can live in the uterus and not imbed has me totally confused. Are you saying that this is something that can happen in cases such as mine? It is again making me question everything.
The conception calculator I checked said that a baby due April 27 (2012) would have been conceived around August 5, 2011. In your earlier post, you said that your wife said she had menstruation after you left, that would concur also. If you did not have sex with her since June 2011, it seems a DNA test would confirm what you fear happened. I might add, there is some research of a phenomenon (not commonly seen at all) where an embryo can stay in the uterus and not embed or begin to develop for a certain amount of time. But though I have seen one case (noted when a woman was doing IVF, where all dates of conception were known) written up, I have not seen others. I only mention this in case the DNA test does show you as the dad, you would not want to have said harsh words in the meantime to her. However, you certainly have a legitimate reason to request a DNA test.
I seriously doubt it. We conceived July 23 and gave birth April 13 to an over due baby. If you still wanna know for sure do a paternity test.
