Hi! Okay so me and my boyfriend has 2 kids together 4 & 6 and I’ve also had a miscarriage last year.. an it’s funny because I actually put the condom on for the secret guy the day it happened. that’s funny I thought I was being weird...  I asked the secret guy abt it and he know I had someone and he said he know for a fact the condom was still intact and he wouldn’t jeopardize my situation.. he said I had nothing to worry abt and  also there was no penetration whatsoever before the condom was used..

My boyfriend does not know the story and he knows they type of woman I am and have been .. he never would question it. I’m always home and work.. but being dumb one particular morning I snuck off.. (I know I’m terrible) No ones perfect. Mistakes happen even though I knew better. I just assumed it was my bf and he knows abt the baby.. just doesn’t know the situation. In my gut I feel it’s my boyfriend.. but the thoughts have me tripping..
Sometimes women's gut feelings about who the dad is are right. You do need to test, it's only fair to all four of you, and this day and age of DNA testing your child will probably find out sooner or later anyway. But unless an abortion is hanging on it, you could probably wait to test until the baby comes. That way you could go to a lab approved by the courts for legal determination of paternity, and it's lots cheaper to test once the baby is here than to do a prenatal test.

I think you have every reason to worry. I'm sorry.

Condoms are mostly effective. The numbers are said to be 80% or 85%. If a condom is used perfectly, the numbers rise to a higher effectiveness rate. (For example, if condoms are used with contraceptive foam, their effectiveness rate rises to 99%.)

However, the ways to increase the chance that the condom will work perfectly is not really in line with the way most people have sex. For one thing, you are supposed to put them on the guy before he gets an erection. (I always wonder, how in the heck is someone supposed to do that? It would be like trying to put a balloon on bread dough.) This is because pre-ejaculate (in slang, pre-c u m) can contain sperm, if the guy has had an ejaculation relatively recently. If there were contact between the penis and the vagina when there was some pre-ejaculate coming out (which it does well before ejaculation) and if there were sperm in it, well, there's the ballgame. Also, condoms can slip, or after the ejaculation when the person reaches to take it off, there can be some further contact (the penis then has sperm on its exterior at that point). Other interesting, creative ways have certainly also been found for determined sperm to reach the woman's vaginal secretions.

Unfortunately, you had sex on exactly the perfect day that you were most likely ovulating. Also, if his sperm did hit the beachhead, it would have lasted in your body up to 5 or 6 days. So it covered a lot of time, if it got there.

How much would it matter if the baby was not from your long-term boyfriend? (I assume, a lot.) How much cooperation do you have from the other guy for DNA testing? There are a couple of companies that are reliable to do pre-natal testing for paternity, but they are very costly. (For comparison, a DNA test after the baby comes costs only a tenth as much as a DNA test before the baby comes. You also have to be very careful to use a reputable lab.) I am just afraid that because of the long time you have been having unprotected sex with your long-term beau without getting pregnant, and because of the perfect timing to your probable ovulation with the wrong guy, you really do have a very realistic chance that this baby came from the fling and not from Mr. Usual. Does your boyfriend know you are pregnant? Does he assume the baby is from him, or does he know the story?

How regular are your cycles? Does your next period come 28 days after the last one, over and over again regular as clockwork for years and years? Or is there variation in the length of a menstrual month?
