No. The morning-after pill doesn't kill sperm -- if taken in exactly the right short time window, 7 out of 8 times it will stop the implantation of an embryo. However, you're pregnant, which shows that the morning-after pill didn't 'stop it from happening.'
You're thinking that if your egg had been fertilized by the guy on the 3rd, the embryo wouldn't have implanted because of the morning-after pill so it must not have been the guy on the 3rd's baby? If the morning-after pill had a hundred-percent success rate, and if you knew exactly for sure when you ovulated, you would be able to work this one out. But you might have had two guys' sperm inside your system at the same time, and the morning-after pill doesn't work 1 out of 8 times anyway, and, in fact, you didn't take it the morning after, which would have allowed time for implantation. If I had to guess it would be that you had an egg come down on the 1st or 2nd, and got pregnant from some of the available sperm in your system on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Unfortunately, this doesn't rule out either guy.
So do you not think that the morning after pill stopped it from happening with the fling if there was a mishap?
Ok, thank you for your help!!
If your last period began January 21, that is when your pregnancy clock starts, according to the doctors. "Gestational age" begins the first day of bleeding of your last period. So that makes you 5 weeks 1 day pregnant, today.
With a 30-day cycle (or any cycle), one ovulates two weeks BEFORE the next period. Thus, since your cycles are a little long compared to the average 28-day cycle, ovulation would have been on February 6. This helps in terms of making the fling less likely and giving the boyfriend more of a chance, *if* when you say you got back with him "around the 6th or 7th" you actually mean on the 6th or 7th.
In any case, get your ultrasound in your 7th or 8th week (again, counted from the first day of your last period, like the doctors count it) if you can.
Since you had sex up to the 3rd with one guy and then sex on the 3rd with another guy and then sex with the first guy maybe three or four days after that, you are going to need a DNA test once the baby's born. It's only fair to everyone.
This is seriously the worst feeling in the world!! :/
I normally have a 30 day cycle. If im calculating correct. Dec period was dec 21st. Leading up to the first I mean we had regular un protected sex up until the 3rd and then not until the 6th or 7th after I slept with the fling..does that help? Would it be possible for me to only be a few weeks along?
Not much anyone can tell you this early; if when you say "last period was Jan 21st or 22nd" you mean the first day of your last period was one of those two days, you're 5 weeks now, (or 5 weeks 1 day) from your first day of your last period. Even if you got in for an ultrasound tomorrow, the embryo would barely be visible this early. The 19th will be a useful time for a first ultrasound, and I'd ask the doctor to order one for sure.
If you have a regular 28-day cycle, by the calendar, you ovulated around the 4th or 5th of February. This means your fling does have the chance to be the dad if he was inside you without the condom on, whether or not he came in his hand later. If "leading up to the 1st" means you had sex with your boyfriend on the 1st, then he has a chance to be the dad as well, due to the long life of sperm in the woman's reproductive tract. (What does leading up to the 1st mean in terms of the last possible date before your hiatus?)
If your periods are irregular, you really can't count by the calendar, however. You could even have ovulated late, putting your boyfriend more firmly into the running. Unfortunately, the difference between the 3rd and around the 6th or 7th is too short of a time for certainty. Unless the ultrasound clearly points to the 1st or 2nd, you aren't going to know until the baby is born and you do a DNA test.
