Had my 12 week ultrasound - venting

I had another ultrasound Friday. This time things were tense as the gal doing the ultrasound was less than pleasant with me. She did not share any of the info on baby's size or pulse. Through over half of the ultrasound she had the screen turned away from me. I did get to hear the heart beat though which was a little bit of a relief since my doctor couldn't hear it in the office. The gal printed off 4 pictures for me but I would have preferred to see more of it. Near as I can tell baby looks healthy and is moving a lot. I have a history of losing my pregnancies between 12 and 16 weeks. I really would have felt better if I would have been able to see more during the ultrasound. I was told baby has arms and legs. In one of the pictures I can see that baby has 4 fingers and a thumb on the right hand. It brought tears to my eyes seeing baby. I feel kinda relieved to know baby is moving well, but still concerned with my history.

Hope everything is going well for the rest of you.

Sorry you wasn't able to see any of it.. But I ask so many questions and I would have asked can I see too so I would no what's is going on. All of my ultrasounds I make sure they be talking to me the whole time and make sure they are showing me as they go. But your not wrong for wanted to see your baby with everything that happened in the pass. But make sure when you have your next one you ask a lot of questions and tell them you would love to see your baby because of your pass. But good luck Hun.

That is weird she didn't let you see the screen :( Hopefully you have a pattern of improving ultrasounds :) Even if she doesn't tell you anything, she could at least have let you see the screen to make you feel better.

I know she has her job to do and with any job there are things that have to be done a specific way. It was just irritating that I didn't even get to see the screen through over half of the ultrasound. There are just some times when I start to think some people are not fit for the job they have. I have had worse ultrasounds. I had one at almost 9 weeks that I didn't get to see any of it or hear the heart beat. Beyond that the gal who was doing that one basically violated me with the internal probe. I have to say this one was better than that, just wish it was a little better. It ***** having these experiences when I have a history of bed experiences with my previous pregnancies and miscarriages.

Sorry, just had to vent.

Sounds like baby is doing great :) Some u/s techs are uptight because they don't want to get in trouble for saying to much (or something wrong). Hopefully your next experience is better!
