Swishing with warm salt water is a great idea. Along with Motrin every four as needed. This will help keep the inflammation down. Try not to chew on that side (I'm sure you can't) to keep from further inflammation. Best of luck!
The evening of JAN.2nd, the swelling started to disperse, and by the time I saw the dentist Thurs morn (JAN 3rd) the swelling was a bubble beside, and wider than, the tooth. After an xray and after the next time I brushed my teeth, as I was inspecting it, I saw it ooze. So, in increments, I pressed it nearly flat while rinsing my mouth with warm salt water.
JAN 4th; I didn't take an pain meds and I have a medium dull ache that is troublesome but I don't like taking pills if I don't have to. I may take some later if I cannot concentrate. About 3-4 inches of my jaw-line is sore, but my ear has stopped itching.
I forgot to mention that on Mon (DEC 31st) I had my husband get me some vitamins and echinacea, and I also have been taking Honey & Lemon tea with vitamins A and C. I'll continue taking my antibiotics, and eat some yogurt to sidestep a woman's yeast issue when taking antibiotics.
I have an appt for Tues (JAN 8th) for a root canal if the tooth is salvageable. I'll keep it clean while I pray that it's saved. ~ Rebecca
I wouldn't take the chance on waiting. It sounds as if you are having some sort of reaction. Go to the ER or your DRs office. I had a reaction to Keflex and it was bad - sounds alot like the ways yours has started. It quickly changed on me and I almost went into anaphylaxis. Be Careful!
