Burning Sensation/Sensitive Tongue

I've had a burning sensation on my tongue for about 1.5 weeks and I dont know if I should visit my dentist or make a doctor appt. My tongue feels as though I've burned it but I havent. Its very sensitive to citrus, spicy foods and its hard to even taste the food. Its even difficult to brush because of the toothpaste, it feels like my tongue and mouth are burning. Also, at the same time the sensations started, I got small red bumps all over my mouth. Very small but visible very close up. Its almost like my lips are chapped. I used 1% hydrocortisone on my lips and that has made the bumps smaller but my tongue condition seems to be getting worse. What can it be? And who should I visit: doctor or dentist? Someone told me it could be an infection trying to get out of my body. Could that be true? Could it be a vitamin deficiency? What can it be related to? I'm an otherwise healthy 25 year old that eats right and exercises. Thanks for your help!!!

I would like to address everyone that has made comments, and not the person asking the question. First of all, there was a question that was posted and there are currently 212 comments which I will not read all of them. However, all of you are simply complaining of a very similar tongue problem and/or symptoms (just as I have) but none of you are offering the poor person any remedies for his/her tongue pain. I don't have one either. I simply find myself biting my tongue incessantly almost to counteract the stinging pain that is probably caused by, but not limited to, some spicy foods, perhaps a lack of a certain food or vitamin in one's diet, perhaps its an oral disease that I'm not sure of. Who knows - I certainly don't. However, if you can't answer the question, don't bother posting comments. Are you guys for real? The person doesn't want to read about your issues - which are similar to his. He/she is asking you for an answer to his problem. Please follow the dam rules of this forum/community and that is comment and without question answering the person that posted the said question. Thank you for reading. God almighty!!!!!!!!

I am undergoing chemo therapy, could this have something to do with it? I take a B100 coplex supplement everyday as well as a multi vitamin. DDon't know how people tolerate this for years, it's only been a few months for me and i'm over it.

do you smoke? NO
do you have allergies? NO
do you currently take meds? NO
have you recently stopped any meds? NO
Do you wear lipstick? NO
have you had dental work done recently? NO
have you had nose problems or surgery? NO

Things that make my tongue burn: spicy food (this is a new development - my first 35 years spicy foods gave me no trouble); balsamic vinegar dressing; pineapple.
