I had consulted with the dermatologist first. She had directed me to the dental clinic. The biopsy report suggests cheilitis glandularisis. But like i said iam doubtful about the report itself. Also the problem persists even after the time suggested by the doctors. Not dry lip or anything like that. Ruled out vitamin b12 deficiency, chapped lips etc by the dermatologist herself. She suggested actinic cheilitis and directed to dental department.
It appears that there is no diagnosis is of your lip problem. Your descriptions suggest dry lip, which may be associated with local dehydration resulting from minor salivary gland dysfunction. If oral medicine specialist can not help you, you may see dermatologist.
I was consulted with the oral medicine and radiology department. They didnt prescribe me any medicine at all. Told that it would be resolved in one to two months. But the problem still persists.
Biopsy exam is highly accurate and reliable,if there is no misplacement or some kind of human error. Your clinical symptoms may not be explainable by histopathologic exam.seeing an oral medicine specialist is advised.
