i guess i would be so reluctant to get another root canal, after that first experience. if you can endure it, give it a couple more weeks, see if it settles, unless you sense infection or worsening. if the healthy tooth has been damaged in surgery, i wonder what chance it has of healing.
sorry it's not much of an answer.
i guess the next thing to do is give that tooth every chance to heal - go easy on it, maybe soft foods, cut smoking, plenty of rest (sleep), calcium/ glucosamine supplements, anything you know to help it heal.

Unfortunately over the last 7 months the pain has worsened. I already follow your recommendations minus the glucosamine. I'll try that, thanks..
you might need to have the bite adjusted on the crown sometime a shift in pressure can make surrounding teeth hurt.
