Dental Implant with healing cap

Hi I had a dental implant with a healing cap placed 2 weeks ago on a lower back tooth.

I have been eating on the other side, lots of soft food

I have read that if the implant is in the jaw under the gum, you can begin to eat more than soft food after 10 to 12 days.  If there is a healing cap you need to wait 6 weeks or longer.

I also read one should stay away from sonic toothbrushes.

I asked the surgeons office they told me not to worry, stope reading the internet, eat whatever I am able to.

I am worried that if I eat where the implant was placed that the bone will not grow around the implant  At the same time it hurts to always chew on the one side.  It would be so much easier to use all of my teeth :)

Can someone please advise? Thank you, Dee

try to avoid hard food as your dentist said, intake liquid like juice and eat soft food. just wait till your implants get set into your jawbone. After dentist recommendation you can eat normally.

Thanks so much for answering.
I was really worried as I read that I needed to stop eating for 3 months after implant/healing cap placement.
The implant and cap were placed at the same time so I read that any movement could disrupt the osseo....
I did not realize when I had the tooth pulled 5 months ago how hard this would be for me.  I only chewed on that side due to missing teeth on other side.UGH

So, it took time to toughen up the gum where missing tooth is.
.
The surgeon asked when I was replacing the other tooth.
I told him it is very expensive, I don't have the money, had to get a credit card for this first one.

Evidently I did not have a very good dentist, he crowned all of my back teeth, now they are failing, thank you again
