Dental Question - Slightly Loose Adult Tooth

I experienced trauma to one of front teeth recently. Last week on June 24, (right after the incident) it was sore. It was hard to eat and sensitive to hot and cold (even cold air). It was slightly lose - to the point where if I put my finger on the front and move it with my tongue I could feel it move. The movement is not visible and I can only tell it is loose if I try to move it. This week the sensitivity is going away, but it is still a little sensitive to cool air, and it doesn't hurt to eat anymore. The tooth has not gotten any looser. Should I be concerned? Do teeth heal from something like this or is there possibility it can fall out? I don't have insurance and am currently unemployed so I am trying to hold onto every dollar I have. Is this something I need to have checked out? All of the other online forums offer so  much conflicting information so much I don't know what to think

I would definitely get the tooth checked out.  The nerve may be dying and although it won't fall out it will change the color of the tooth and look bad.  This is well worth a trip to the dentist's office and with this economy dentists are allowing patients to make payments.

Hi,
First thing.  DON'T WIGGLE IT.  Teeth can tighten back up if left alone and not too badly damaged.
Just baby it and see if the painful sensation to heat and cold goes away.
If not, you may need a root canal,  but many injured front teeth need nothing but to be left alone.

Be very gentle with it.  It can take several months for it to completely heal.

GOOD LUCK.
My best to you,
Gellia
