Oh, I don't doubt that the staff and clinic are wonderful. But will the implants be compatible with USA crowns and abutments should something go wrong? Like a broken crown. That is where you will have a problem finding a USA dentist being able to help. It's not they don't want to help, it's they can't.
This is the biggest complaint I've heard so far with foreign implants. Everything is fine unless there is an problem with the crown and/or abutment. Many European implants will not fit a USA made abutment. If you can't get the right abutment to screw into the implant to seat the crown, you can't get a crown, therefore making the implant impossible to use. In cases like that, the implant has to be "put to sleep" as it is no longer able to accept a crown.
That problem can easily be remedied by a return visit to the country where the implant was placed, assuming that is economically feasible.
Hope this helps. I'm sure that the Hungry clinics are wonderful as long as you are getting USA compatible implants and abutments.
Best to you,
Gellia
Hi!
Thank you for your comment!
I've heard the same about dentists but the dentists at that clinic are not like that, there are many many patients from abroad e.g. form France, England and the Chief dentist is also famous in Japan too. So I can't tell anything wrong about this clinic's staff!
All the best,
Klaria
HI,
I'm so happy that your implants were successful and you are pleased with them.
The only problem I hear with getting work done out of country is that some dentists don't want to work on another dentists patient. This is especially true where implants are involved. The abutments are at times difficult to match up to the implant used rendering them useless.
If you are willing to take that chance, or that you may need another trip out of country for treatment, it can be a great choice.
GOOD LUCK. I'm happy that your smile is bright!
My best to you,
Gellia
