Our daughter saw the dentist today, and he was concerned about a few things:
1. She has a cavity in one of her molars
2. She has very deep fissures in her molars
3. Her teeth are very crowded, and he highly doubts there'll be room for her adult teeth
4. He was curious about the fact that she teethed in a very abnormal teething pattern and the fact that her final molars came in very late (she cut her upper lateral incisors first, at almost 11 months, then a lower central incisor, then her two upper central incisors, then a lower lateral incisor, then her other lower central incisor etc...). Her final molars did not start coming in until she was 3, and they were not fully erupted until a couple months later.
He's referring her to a pediatric dentist. She is on the spectrum, and does not cooperate well, so xrays were not possible. With all of these put together, is it possible she has some sort of dental problem? If so, what could it be? She is still a thumb sucker and also grinds her teeth somewhat.
