Drained Dental Abscess and Tooth Removal

Hello.. I recently had an emergency abscess drained and a tooth removed because of the infection. I had the draining done on a Sunday morning and the extraction done on Monday morning. Monday morning I was very nauseuated, prior to the extraction. The dentist said this was normal. My face swelling had went down alot, but was not back to normal size. After the extraction (day 3) I am still nauseated at times. My face is still swollen, though not as bad.  I feel very weak (probably because i can't really eat) my mouth will not fully open yet either. Is this normal? How much rest do I need after this type of procedure? Does my vegan diet effect how the antibiotics digest in my body? I havent really eaten any food other than applesauce and vegetable soup since Saturday.  Should I be drinking lots of Vitamin C during this time?
What should the healing process be inside my mouth? There looks like there is a white pus sac along the side of my gum (assuming this is one of the draining sites) should i bust this? Please Help me with the Aftercare of this issue!!

help!! i had an abscess on a tooth that had already had root canal treatment went to the dentist he said i had the abscess after taking an x ray and said the tooth needed to be removed. without asking whether there was anyone to go home wiith me or if the rest of my day was free, he, under just normal injected into the mouth painkiller proceeded to pull the tooth i felt most of it and screamed i had previously asked can i have gas and air or something he said id be "fine" . I rinsed my mouth full of blood was taken another look at into my mouth and was by this time really crying he gave me a laflet and sent me home. I cried all the way home from the shock of it and the pain and was still crying about it all day and since then every time i think about it i fill up with tears, surely this was not correct procedure. I was not given antibiotics before or after. by thhe way this was only yesterday and im now feeling pain in the next tooth but im not going back anywhere near that dentist. Thhe sad thing is ive been with that surgery for 14 years, what should i do.

Your body is probably still resolving the abscess.  The extraction removes the source of infection and allows your body to fight the infection and win.  If the tooth had remained, your body probably would never be able to remove the infection entirely.

The antibiotics are definitely helping with the infection.  It may be possible that the nausea is a side effect of the antibiotics or pain medications.

I wouldn't touch the extraction site.  I would leave it alone and as long as the swelling continues to shrink and your symptoms improve, you should be fine.  Are you scheduled for a follow up with your dentist?
