Failed Bone Graft

Having a tongue ring for 10 years casued the gum on the back of that tooth to wear away and caused the bone loss, which resulted in my tooth being loose. Once I discovered this, I went to the dentist in 2006 to see what they could do. I was told that all I needed was a deep cleaning- aka scaling.
I had this done a few weeks later. And after - my tooth was still loose.
I waited about 6 months to go back. At this point I was told I had to have the dental surgery. I was so disapointed - why didnt they just tell me this in the begining.
On -10/15/08 - I had a gingival flap & bone graft done of my front bottom tooth.
The procedure was not cheap- and I have only made my 2nd payment this month.
I went back to the dentist yesterday- 11/24 & I was informed that the graft failed! I am upset about this. He informed me that he will not do the procedure again. So right now the only thing holding my tooth in place is this fiberglass like bond he put on the back of my 4 front teeth.
I asked them why was this not an option when I first went to them in 2006. I never got a straight answer.

You should try suing this dentist through small claims court.

You should also report this guy to the dental licensing board in your state and maybe to the Better Business Bureau.

Yes I took the tongue ring out over a year ago. I was thinking about the money I had to pay for this and the fact that it failed. It's really upseting. Then I started to think maybe they were just trying to get the most money from me. Any other option I go for will have me paying more money.

You should have that tooth looked at by a more competent dentist.  And maybe consider suing to get your money back.

I hope you stopped wearing that tongue ring.
