First Time Denutre Wearer

My husband had his remaining 7 upper teeth pulled and the dentist immediately put on his temporary plate but now 2 weeks later he still can't eat.  The dentist put a lining on the plate and it was comfortable for him for about 1 day.  Now he has extreme sore spots on the front part of his gums and cannot eat, he has lost 17 pounds.  The dentist said to use denture adesive (polygrip, fixodent, etc.) for the lose dentures but this doesn't help him.  He went back to the dentist and was told if they put a new lining in the plate it will cost an additional $200.00 dollars.  If anybody have any advice I would greatly appreciate it.  He cannot eat and is in constant pain.

Immediate denture requires frequent relining, how frequent depends on tissue change and relining material. After each relining, occlusion needs to be checked and adjusted accordingly. Metal plate is not appropriate for the fabrication of immediate denture.

Hullo
I am getting ready to have my top remaining teeth out and a denture fitted and have been given advice from three different dentists and all was different. I was told  that if you get normal plastic dentures they have to be adjusted repeatedly for sore spots and relined because your gums recede. They also told me they charge for that. They said if you get metal ones it doesn't happen but they are expensive. What kind has he got?
I am dreading getting this done but have little choice because my teeth are finished. I have suffered for years with teeth and face pains and know that whatever the cost you have to get health things done first. Send him back to the dentist again and get the lining done. I have to borrow the money for mine but life is unbearable with something like this going on. I really need to lose weight myself but not that way.
If you can give ME any advice I would really appreciate it. best wishes, BigKev.
