Hi again,
If you take good care of the tooth with proper brushing and flossing, it should last a long time. RCT teeth will only decay if there is reason for decay, i.e. poor dental care. If you can keep it from decaying underneath a crown or filling, it will be fine.
Once the nerve is removed, the tooth shell is still there and the nerve channel is filled. It can no longer feel sensation to heat or cold but it's still a tooth.
Brush your teeth properly at least twice daily (for 2 minutes) and floss correctly at least once daily and your RCT tooth should serve you well.
Worst case scenario is that an infection could happen which could happen anyway, and the tooth can be replaced with an implant.
Don't worry about a RCT tooth. Just take extra care of it and it will take care of you.
Best to you and hope this helps.
Gellia.
