Help

After a few weeks in discomfort with my lower gums i stated to notice the gum receeding and turning a funny colour and my tooth was slightly wobbly so visited my dentist.  I have been told i have the early stages of Periodontitis and the dentist gave me a clean up.  She said that the wobbliness should go away as the gums heal and reattach.  Two weeks later i was no better so book into the dentist and also went to see my GP - the GP advised i have an infection now and have given me antibiotics to clear the infection.  Obviously i will see the dentist after the infection has gone but it seems the teeth are still wobbly perhaps worse.  The worst thing is the emotional side of perhaps losing my teeth altogether and that my dentist has not explained what will happen in the future - will i have to have bone grafts?  Cant i just have my teeth taken out and replaced?? Im only 27 and my teeth have been fine up until now and still look it! Please help!!!!!

mix the milk of 1 teaspoon of milk of magnesia with a half a glass of water and gargle and swish. this can help prevent it from getting worse not cure your problem or increase gum strength. the dentist can give you a prescription for a medicated mouth rinse that should work better than any home remedy.
if i were you i might try a different dentist. gum disease is never in the early stages when the teeth become loose. a simple cleaning will not do anything for your problem.
i do agree that its insane that a breast job is covered but not dental care. i have always been amazed viagra is covered and birth control isnt under many insurance plans. you might be able to make an argument that this is a medical procedure not dental since there is possible infection in the bone.

The are my two lower front teeth hence the major concern on my part!  They simply gave me a clean with a spray of corsodyl and sent me on my way only to find out 2 weeks later that the clean may have caused the infection i now have!  Unfortunately i cannot make another appointment until the infection has cleared so another week at least of sleepless nights (sorry if i sound dramatic!!!!).  I have vaguely looked into treatment options and feel that i may have to suffer for the rest of my life unless i magic some serious money from somewhere!  Annoys me to think that girls can go and have breast implants on the NHS as they are worried what people think etc yet feel that i wont be getting the support i need from the NHS when i feel the same about losing my teeth!  Anyway, the harping on is over........

I will try the milk of magnesium and see if that helps in the meantime - thanks.

what teeth are they?...periodontal disease will cause gum loss and your teeth will become wobble... what kind of treatment did they give you?... a simple cleaning will not fix the problem...

try to swish with milk of magnesium. (walgreens, walmart, drug store).... swish it in your mouth morning and night for a few days. DO NOT SWALLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!... will make your gums become stronger and wont let it get any worse....

i would make another dentist appt and see what your treatment options are....
