I don't know if I should Worry or not yet,but something weird happned in my mouth.Help.

Hi,I was having a nice day today,I hung out with my friends after school and we decided to go eat Chinese food. When we were done and I got in the car,I poked around my mouth for left over foods. As my tongue swept over my gums,I felt a smooth swollen area.I wasn't sure if it was really swollen or just random, smooth skin that just felt enlarged for no reason. So I reached in with a finger and pressed on the spot, near the back of my mouth,at the top above my tongue to the left. And as I pushed,I didn't exactlyt hear a pop,but the I think that is what happned. The area popped,or atleast disenflated! It scared me,so I asked my parents about it when I got home. My stepdad thinks it could be serious, I've already forgotten what he said exactly.. But something about bacteria,an infection? So,I'm scared, but I'm also afraid to go to the dentist. What could this be? Please help! And soon,my mom wants to take me to the Dentist on Tusday ( I will still go anyways, but you know.I will feel better if i get advice or facts)

Thank you all.

odds are its nothing especially if you were looked at a few months ago. things like gum disease take awhile to develop and since you are young and seem to take good care of your teeth its improbable.

Well thank you,I hope you're right. I don't like the dentist much. So i hope it'll be ok,but I still wish i already knew what was wrong.Though nothing seems to be wrong today.NO bumps or nothing. It hurt a bit when I brushed the area. But no bleeding or anything.

dont panic. odds are if you brush, floss, and get regular dental care it will be nothing serious. if its some kind of infection it is better to do something now and not wait. i had something similar happen and it ended up being a popcorn husk that got caught below the gum line and got infected. the dentist removed it and it healed right up. go on tuesday but dont be overly concerned. dont forget to post back with the dentists results. good luck!
