Infection on underside of tongue...

On the underside of my tongue, there are two very small 1/4" flaps of skin about halfway back that sort of hang down. I saw someone mention below that he had those, and he wondered if they were abnormal, so I guess not everyone has them, but... one of mine seems to be infected somehow. I don't even know how to describe what it is if you don't know what I mean, but it hurts like a canker sore, and it's red, and for as small as it is, it's packing a punch. On top of that, I have had four consecutive huge and painful canker sores in the past month and a half, one of which I still have, and one of my lymph glands under my jaw is swollen (incidentally, the right side, and it is my right "flap" which is swollen). So it could possibly be a canker sore on the bottom of this flap, but it just seems like a weird location for one. And the chronic canker sore issue could also be a related problem...

Should I see a doctor about this?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Any sore that doesn't heal in 7 to 10 days should be seen by a doctor. An oral surgeon is my choice.
