Hello,
For the past two days something a bit strange has been bothering me, and I was just curious if you have ever heard of something similar? The right side of my tongue, at what feels like the base behind or near my last molar, has been giving me an incredibly sharp, slicing pain that lasts about a minute or so. This is at it's worst in the morning, and persists sort of dully off and on during the day. Also, it almost feels as if the area on that side was...numb? Not completey-totally, but definitely a cottony, loose, sort of disconnected feeling, especially when I close my jaw.
I peered inside there with a flashlight expecting to see I had bitten my cheek or something, but I can't see anything that would strike me as out of the normal. Of course, I can not seem to move my tongue aside enough without choking to be able to see the area where the pain feels to be coming from.
Today a small, sharp sensation near my throat periodically accompanies swallowing.
I am due to get my wisdom teeth removed...sometime (haven't made the appointment yet). Could this be related to the teeth coming in?
