Lumineers/Veneers

I have come to a point where I am ready for a 'perm' solution to my smile problem. After having 4 teeth pulled for braces when I was 11-12 and having braces TWICE, I still have little gaps at the top of my teeth (by my gums). I had some bonding done a few years ago (all I could afford at the time). The bonding has since broken and cracked. I moved out of state and have found a new cosmetic dentist. She does both lumineers and veneers. Here's my dilema:

According to what she told me, lumineers are a bit thicker and I would need to do 8-10 teeth. Veneers on the other hand, have to remove so much more of your tooth. But I would only need the 4-6 that I want done. Cost per tooth is about $50 different (veneers being the more expensive...but I would need fewer). Cost is not really the issue, but I have heard lumineers are more likely to break.

Anyone? What would YOU do??? (money not the object) Help is greatly appreciated

Thank you for your input!!

That is kind of the way I am leaning as well. Either way, they will ultimately need to be replaced at some point from age. Veneers have been around longer, so 'tweaked' a bit more IMHO so lifetime expectancy is more accurate.

Need fundage to come through and then I will post before and after! :)

Thanks again!

I personally do not like the final look of lumineers because of the thickness she describes.  A veneer does require more tooth reduction, but we are talking in the tenths of a millimeter and a good cosmetic dentist will still leave you with enamel on the tooth.  A well done veneer should last for a lifetime.

Ask to see some of her results if you have not already.  If you like what she can do, I would highly suggest the veneers.
