Mouth props

I read a post in which a person at pediatric dental clinic gave the suggestion to a parent of a disabled child that she try a molt mouth prop for dental hygiene for her disabled child. She stated that the place she works sells them for about $50. i'm wondering if I could purchase for my son as our dentist has recommended we get one for our disabled son for whom oral hygiene is an extreme challenge but the cost is $150 which we can't afford. Any help? It was  in the orthodontics area -titled "Braces for disabled kids" Thanks for any help!!

So what if it is metal, the guy was just trying to help you. There are two types of mouth props, one is rubber and the other loks like scissors and it is metal.

a mouth prop is a simple rubber item. it should cost no where near $50.  I wold ask a dentist that you have a good relationship with to order one for you out of his dental supply company's catalog.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
I really don't know anything about this item, but I would hope if a dentist could order it for you he would only give it to you at cost or make it a gift for your son.
