To rid the smell do an oil pull with unrefined coconut oil for 20min don't swallow it spit the liquid after the 20 min and touch the tooth and smell you finger and there will be no smell u can do this daily.
Now it is happening for me. my wisdom teeth. It feels like a tooth under the gums. And that is the only place in my mouth that smells bad.
This is currently happening to me, but I'm experiencing NO pain. Any thoughts on how to get rid of it? Or is the only solution an extraction?
i had the same problem before. my upper third molar (wisdom tooth) faces the cheek. i discovered it about a week from now. when i first tried to explore it with my tongue i can't reach the back part, so i put my finger on it, and when i smell my finger i was surprised how bad it smelled. so i tried to reach it with my brush but there's no way to reach it.. so what i did is i brushed it with my finger, and then guess what, the smell was gone.. lol... hope this may help..
You need to tie a string to the smelly tooth and pull it out cause bad breath is embarrassing
no you dont have an impacted wisdom tooth because it has already erupted... it sounds like an infection, and yes i agree i would have it pulled because thye are just problems and will cause your teeth to shift....
go see a dentist....

Make sure you use an oral surgeon to remove wisdom teeth. If nerves are close to or wrapped around the tooth, you could end up with permanent nerve damage if not properly removed. Personally, I wouldn't risk letting a General Dentist do it.
Hi shar03! I am in no way a "certified" dental expert, however, when someone (myself included) spends countless hours on the internet trying to find the source of a "smell problem", you tend to learn a thing or two..... Anyway, it sounds to me that you MAY have what's called "impacted wisdom teeth." It's where your wisdom tooth/teeth are stuck between open and close in your gum. The smell you are experiencing may be caused by either food getting stuck in between the openness of your gum, around the tooth area, or you could be experiencing what I was experiencing, and have granulation tissue in the open area of your gum, around the tooth/teeth. Granulation tissue (according to wikipedia) is designed to fill in unauthorized open spaces on your body, to keep germs and bacteria from entering your blood system. Sometimes (especially in an always wet and bacteria laden mouth) the tissue stinks. You should definitely see a dentist because you may need to have the wisdom tooth/teeth pulled.
My wisdom tooth smells too, its really horrible and its soo sore and swollen. I already know there is no room in my mouth for this one and its trying to come up about 8 months now but it never caused me an infection before. Is it definately an infection? or could it just be irritated because the other wisdom tooth on the opposite side is now trying to make its way through my gum? as for sinus problems, how bad can they be?
Your comment was really helpful, thank you.
For starters there is something wrong with your wisdom tooth because it doesn't take that long for them to come up all the way. Once it breaks through the gums they come up in days like practically over night. The Smell is probably from and infection. Chances are you have an infection in your gums caused by tooth.
I suggest that you go to the dentist to check it out and more than likely he/she will also want to extract the tooth. Most people like myself once the wisdom teeth start breaking through the gums we get them extratced because they cause nothing but problems and get pulled out anyway. So please see the dentist because if you have an infection and it is not taken care of properly you can cause alot of probelms and especially with your sinuses.
