Piece of Cotten stuck in the tooth extraction site

Hi So last week on Wednesday I had a tooth extraction and everything was fine until sunday since I saw lots of blood coming out from the site and had to make a visit to the dentist. I had to do the gauze all over again and I just  noticed that a small piece of it is stuck in the site, I will be visiting the dentist next week since I have an appointment. What can I do? Can it come out when I drink or does he has to remove it? And will blood come out again?
