Post Root Canal Infection?

I had a root canal 8 days ago on tooth #5 and started antibiotics.  Day 4, my tooth was extremely sore and I noticed my face was sore and I had a bump that was extremely sensitive far above my tooth by my cheek bone.  Day 5, symptoms got worse, more radiating pain. Day 6, back to the dentist, he drilled on my tooth looking for an extra canal or crack. Found nothing and put me on Kelflex antibiotic. Excruciating pain. The lump on my jaw bone has gotten larger, my face is a little swollen. Day 7, my face is more swollen, bump larger, tooth still sore. Day 8, my face is really swollen, I'm in pain. What's happening? What should I do?

I have a been having a metallic like taste in my mouth during this time and still experience some pain akthough I have got used to it. My dentist has been hedging any questions I ask about this and I do not know what to do. thank you.

I am having the same problem you had. I had a RC done 2 weeks ago. Have been on the Keflex for 2 weeks I think it controlled the infection at first but now its getting worse. What ultimately did you have done? Any info appreciated.
Going back to the dentist tomorrow.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
You need to get this infection under control. I don't know how swollen you are and whether or not you need and I and D(incision and drain). This should be determined by your dentist. If it doesn't improve you need to see either an endodontist or an oral surgeon.
