Root Canal/Re-curring Ear Infections

I've been having problems with recurring ear infections that seem to have begun shortly after having 2 root canals, one on either side, upper jaw. The teeth are the back molar on the right side and the 2nd. from the back on the left side. I have had all of my wisdom teeth pulled many years ago. I've never had problems with ear/nasal infections untill shortly after having the root canal procedures done. The teeth themselves don't hurt unless I press, (not hard), from the outside to the inside. The ear infections don't hurt either, but there is some ringing associated with it above the norm., it's just that everytime I go to the MD, I'm getting tired of hearing that I have an ear infection and having to take anti- biotics all of the time. If there is a potential for this being a cause, I'll bring it up to my DDS next week, and we'll extract the teeth, applesauce ain't that bad I guess :) Thanks for taking the time to read this post and replying, Tony.

I do not think the ear infections are related to the root canal teeth. I would certainly reconsider extracting the teeth without exploring the other possible causes.

It's highly unlikely that a dental infection can spread to ear. However, upper front teeth infection is possible to get to nose. If your ear problem is not caused by infection, tmj evaluation is advised.

I too have been on this roller-coaster since sept 1 2007.  I cannot chew on this tooth, and everytime I go back I go through another round of xrays, and insisting that the root canal is "fine"    The last time they found a peice of tooth wedged up inside from the tooth in front of the root canal one .  You would not believe how much I have been charged by this dentist, for every appointment, each frustrating visit with nooooo improvement. Is this normal to charge although no improvement?  I would have been so much better off having it pulled. ( last molar)..any thoughts out there on the standard charge and expectations of service??
