SUDDEN Soft Painless Bump/Bubble found on Roof of Mouth.

hey there-
Tonight I noticed a sudden soft painless bump-bubble on the roof of my mouth.  The color is Clearish/White and the size is a bit smaller than an eraser on a pencil.  I'm not sure if I should try to pop it or if I need to see a doc or wait it out.  IF I need to go to the doctor....do I go to a dentist?  I wasn't sure what type of doctor would deal with this.  It's definitely NOT a cold sore, canker sore or STD.  And again...so far it's painless.  Thank you so much!  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -S

If the lesion persists more than a week and enlarges, you may need to see an oral surgeon.

@scottma Thank you SO much for your suggestion!  Strangely, the thing popped the next morning.  I have no idea what it was.  But I'm so glad it went away quickly.  I will keep an eye out on the area.  Much appreciated!!!  :)
Your descriptions suggests mucous retention phenomenon.
