Should I have facial pain after extraction of abscessed teeth?

I have GERD which is destroying my teeth. 4 days ago my tooth started hurting and by late afternoon, my face started to swell. I went to an urgent clinic, and they gave me two antibiotic shots and a prescription of antibiotics and told me to follow up with my dentist. The next morning, I saw my dentist, and she decided that three teeth needed to be extracted (one was a wisdom tooth). She tried numbing me 4 times, but the infection wouldn't let it take effect so she pulled them anyway. It was the worst pain I have ever felt!!! I am still taking antibiotics, and the swelling is almost completely gone, but my face hurts like someone punched me. It seems to be moving to my forehead as well. Is this normal or should I be concerned?
