Should I see a dentist?

I have been having problems with a wisdom tooth for about a year. It will pop through, and then go back down. I have always been able to handle the pain, but this time it's much worse. My face and neck are swollen, and all around the tooth my gums feel like they're filled with fluid.I also have a bit of pain in my ear. Is this typical of a tooth coming in, or should I see a dentist?

I realize that my dental insurance is NOT my health insurance. But now that I must take Dilantin and Vimpat for seizures, it sounds totally rational for my health insurance (which is must more comprehensive and pays for ALL my health issues), should cover the "black teeth" caused my Dilantin, since IT was the cause of my unsightly teeth, the need for periodontal surgery (even though I use an electric toothbrush, Listerine, and keep my mouth/teeth clean as a whistle) and may well have to have two dental implants to anchor a bridge for the darn teeth that have rotted so badly in 3 months that they must be extracted (Shiver...)  Crossover, yes, but a dear friend made her health insurance pay for HER implant when her nutritional health was impacted by her loss of a tooth.
