Went in for a routine cleaning...was then told there is a 'calcified growth ' in my gum showing on the x-ray. He told me not to worry and felt my gum and I had no pain and he said that was good. I am going in to see an oral surgeon. Didn't think much of it at first, then went home and went on google. Is oral cancer the only thing this can be? The doctor looked alarmed. The location is right next to an old removed root canal, can it be related to this?
I am a 36 y/o female. Have NEVER smoked and RARELY drink. NO HPV. This is off the damn wall ( and also, gross, quite frankly) to me.
If it is cancer...I am not living having my tongue/ half mouth removed...I would rather die. If it's something nasty, is there a chance they can remove it without destroying my face and ability to eat or kiss or whatever else????
