Tongue Irritation - No Diagnosis

I developed irritation / inflammation on both sides of my tongue 5 months ago. I have been to 4 doctors, including ENT but none of them were able to give a certain diagnosis. My blood and allergy tests came back normal.
These are not sores but rather a red irritation that makes the tongue bumpy/uneven accompanied by thin purple waves on the sides of the tongue. I also get burning sensation on the tip of my tongue which is a little more red than before.
Overall, it's not painful, just unvomfortable and I'm worried it could be something serious.
I will appreciate any ideas/suggestions/advice.
Thank you!

Scottma,
Thank you! It might be burning tongue syndrome except this syndrome usually doesn't have any visible reactions. I've never heard of orofacial specialists, thanks for the recommendation.
