Tooth Hurts With Pressure

I ate a large amount of candy (sour skittles) the other day , and now my teeth have severe pain with any pressure (like chewing) but no pain whatsoever when no pressure.

I have never had a cavity and this happens whenever I eat sweets (this time seems to be the worst though).  I just was at the dentist a few weeks ago and had x rays, and everything looked good, like always.

I got Sensodyne, but after a day, no change has occured.  How long does it take to work, and any other suggestions?

The pain start with sweets and ice.  I chew ice a lot, and it happens then too...but once the pain starts, it is agrivated by ANY pressure whatsoever (including toothbrush).

It is better now, but still not good.

the toothpaste takes regular use over a period of time to actually help. i noticed a difference after several weeks. even though it helps it usually does not completely solve the problem. does this happen with just chewy candy or anything sweet? also are you sure its your teeth and not your jaw? chewy candies and gum can cause the jaw muscles to ache when chewing from overuse. if this does not go away in a few days check with your dentist.
