What do I do for this tooth?

I have a bad molar on the lower left side. I went to the dentist about a year ago and they did pull a wisdom tooth on the same side on top. The dentist said the other tooth was too bad to fix. I had chiped it and it just kept getting worse and getting a bad cavity in it. He tried to pull it but it hurt too bad. He kept giving me shot after shot and it would not relieve the pain or numb me to get it out. He said I might have an infection so prescribed me amoxicillin and told me to return it ten days. I took the antibiotic and returned and again the dentist could not numb me to get it out. Since then it has continued to get worse and chip more and more. No there's not much there. Food gets stuck in this hole that's there now. Most of the tooth that's left is below the gum line. Today I noticed a bubble right behind the tooth that I assume is because of infection and the tooth started bleeding. What do I do? The dentist can't get it out. Is it true that I can have a surgery done in the hospital to have it removed? If so what does that all mean? Will I end up with a huge scar on th eside of my face or do they do all the operating inside the mouth? Will it be really painful after I have it done? Does anyone know about this?

i have heard of some issues numbing upper teeth but never lowers unless there is infection present. the bubble is an abscess and until the infection is cured you might remain unnumbable. since the first course of antibiotics obviously didnt work you need a different kind.

What you describe is not that hard to take out.  Many general dentists get very good at extractions, and any oral surgeon worth his license can remove that tooth in 15 minutes or less.

Well There's only a tiny little bit of the tooth above the gums. They can still take it out normally? The part that's still above the gums is a tiny part that touches the tooth in front of it. When the dentist was trying to get it out he had ripped off part of the enamel. It just kind of started crumbling. Are you sure they can still take it out normally if I can find a dentist who can numb me?

Go to another dentist, or hopefully an oral surgeon.  It can be removed normally, you just need to find someone who knows how to get you numb, because your current dentist obviously does not.
