Sorry, and I don't think this matters but I'd like to clarify just in case, it's actually the front RIGHT tooth. Didn't realize my mistake until I posted it.
there are dentists that do implants everywhere. your regular dentist should have recommended the option to you since you have a tooth that cant be used. implants are expensive and many insurances dont cover them. i need one for a molar and between the implant (the post put in your jawbone) and the crown (the tooth that screws on it) the cost was around $5000. this changes with the type of tooth being replaced and what part of the country you live in. the front teeth are cheaper.
Hi,
I just had four implants across the front top.. They couldn't be stronger. I feel like I could pull a train with them! lol
Implants are very strong. They also can be costly but I feel have been well worth it for me.
Each implant rain slightly more than $2000 and the crown and abutment were another $1200 each. I also used and paid for a metal removable partial while they healed. If it's only one tooth that would need replacing you could get a cheaper "flipper" to use during healing.
I don't know your age, but having a tooth that is only strong enough to eat a banana is going to fail you at some point. IMO an implant, if you can afford it, is the way to go.
Hope this helps some.
Best to you,
Gellia
Thanks a lot! I wasn't sure if an implant would be really strong since I didn't know anything about them but I'll have to bring it up next time I talk to my dentist, or get a second opinion. I'm only 19 right now so you're right, it would break after a bit seeing as I have so long to keep it.
only 19. you really need that implant!
