White Tongue (help)

For about 3 months I've had a slightly white tongue, like a white/pale yellow coating.  It's mainly towards the back of my tongue and it's not painful.  It hasn't gotten worse at all, but hasn't really gotten that much better either.  I've been to the doctor 2 times and the dentist once for other conditions and they've routinely checked my mouth and didn't say anything or act concerned, so it might only be really noticeable to me.  Right now I'm using BreathRx Anti-Bacterial Tongue Spray and Tongue Scraper and it seems to be helping a little bit.

I've read about Thrush online and I'm concerned that this might be it, especially because I've read it's a major symptom of HIV/AIDs.  I've looked at pictures online of Thrush and what I have doesn't seem nearly as bad.  I've also read that Thrush is more common in diabetics and I am diabetic.

Please help me out!

I have had the same thing since March, shortly after a sexual encounter.  I've seen various doctors, my dentist, dermatologist, and an oral surgeon.  All of my test results have been negative.  I was not tested for Herpes or Hepatitis because none of the symptoms seem related.  The white fungus/bacterial looking stuff gets worse when I drink coffee or beer.  It also causes a stickiness or slight burning on my lower lip at times.  Over the last few months it seems to be less irritating but I was using chapstick on a regular basis for a while for relief.  I also developed a few small blemishes on my face that look like blood vessels.  Nothing major but I wonder if they are related.  Personally I know that something changed in February/March and I'm not convinced that there isn't something wrong.  Whether it is a normal condition or something rare that could possibly be cured is the question.  Be prepared to hear the same response..."There's nothing wrong with you".  Aside from being tested, I've done a lot of research and ruled out HIV.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
I think the doctors would have noticed if it was thrush and I think it would be present in other parts of your mouth. I would continue with the hygiene you are using and see how it goes. If it persists see an oral surgeon for a consult.
