Is it actually hanging from the tissue (gums)?
Fibroma is a fibrous tissue, as not to worry patients the "benign tumor" is usually not mentioned.
What is the origin of fibromas? Usually they just...well are. Same question can be asked "why do we have moles?".
In rare cases a type of fibroma may form around the old scar. The chance of fibroma appearing on the place of the scar greatly increased in African Americans.
