Wisdom teeth removed, jaw is sore?

Its been eight days since I got one wisdom tooth removed under local anesthesia, and I've have no pain so i thought its gonna be smooth sailing from now on. im eating normal food and being extra careful that no food gets in there. but i noticed some weird symptoms, for the past few days I get a bad taste in my mouth that wont go away. dont think its an infection because i dont have any other symptoms of a infection
but the one is bothering me is my jaw, ever since yesterday, both sides have been feeling sore and kinda tight. it comes and goes and now, only the side by my wisdom tooth hole feels tight. a few days earlier, i've been biting down on my teeth alot, could this be why? but i stopped doing it and the pain is still there. this is just confusing because I had nothing happen and this is occuring a week after my tooth surgery. any ideas

It appears that there may be an infection, possibly there may be some small bit of food stuck that has caused the infection.

Would be a good idea to see your dentist to examine your mouth to make sure everything is fine.  He will be able to see if there is anything in the healing wound that needs to be removed and may prescribe antibiotic if there is any infection.

Best wishes.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello there,
A clinical examination is extremely important for correct diagnosis and management of your condition. It is possible that you have a dry socket or acute alveolar osteitis. It  is caused by the loss of the blood clot in the area of the extracted tooth within the first few days after surgery .It causes radiating pain to ear , temple and cheek, pain of adjacent teeth and jaw, foul taste and smell etc.If there is swelling also there is possibility of some infection. Schedule an  appointment with your dentist. A dental examination will be helpful. I hope it helps.
Best wishes and kind regards!
