Why do I have an awful headache after wisdom teeth removal?
I am 17 and got my wisdom teeth out about a week ago. The pain was horrible and for the first 4 days I took between three and four 5 325 percocets spaced throughout the day. After that, the tooth pain subsided completely. However, the past 3 mornings I have woken up with the worst headaches I have ever had. Is this normal for getting wisdom teeth out or is this a side effect of the Percocet? Is there any reason to be concerned about this?
Hello~I would call your dentist and let him/her know what is going on. Your headache is more than likely due to the extraction of your wisdom teeth. Your jaw was open extra wide, and the muscles leading from there to your head could be spasming or understandably sore.
There is a reason for the phrase "worse than getting teeth pulled."
Pulling teeth is painful and affects nerves in the jaw. Call your dentist if the headaches continue and ask for his advice since you noticed them shortly after having your teeth pulled.
