Thank You for setting me right. Am pretty much confused. All I know is she (DS) said not to get the kind she has. Looks like wire and some false teeth attached. But hers are old! I did google like you said. The bridges do look nice. My denist suggest what they call flex partial of corse she said it was up to me. I also looked those up and if I read right, they can add teeth to them. If you need more teeth pulled. Which by the sound of things I may further down the road. Am sorry if I make no sense or don't know what am talking about. This is not one of those things am schooled on......but,am trying :o)
a bridge cannot be removed, a partial can be removed
Thank You :-D My sister has got a bridge and she is not happy with it. The teeth it achors to are in bad shape. She never wears them, Her bridge is the front teeth on the bottom. Now my Bother-in-Law has a partial on the top and he said he never has any trouble with his.So am confused. I will google some pic. and gather up more info and talk to my Dr. before we start in. Once again Thank You for takeing the time to answer my Question.
a bridge is where they crown the teeth adjacent to that area and fill it in with "false teeth" and its like having permanent teeth there, but you HAVE to keep up with your flossing. This is a more preferred route than a partial. A partial will fill in your missing teeth, but its removable and isn't as pretty as a bridge.
I would possibly get a second opinion from a periodontist and talk to them about implants as well and get a pricing for each treatment plan. Don't be afraid to ask your dentist to explain the difference between treatment options. I would maybe google pictures of bridges and partials and you might be able to see what they look like.
