Yeah, when my grandson had hand, foot, and mouth disease, this is what the pediatrician had my daughter do for him. The benadryl has a healing effect, and the milk of magnesia merely coats the tongue to allow you to eat, and keep food from further irritating the ulcers. I should have told you this in my first post! Sorry, but glad you're doing better.
nope no rash on my hands or feet.... the doctors around here suck and i think they misdiagnosed me... i was taking acyclovir to clear these up as i was perscribed.about 2 days after i started taking it i developed a major case of thrush on my tounge... all that medicine did was make my sores worse. so i ate plain yogurt with an active culture in it to get rid of the thrush... the sore on the top of my tounge are gone but now theyre on my cheeks and under my tounge.... the pharmacist at walgreens told me to mix milk of magnesia and benydril together and swish it... so far i have seen quite an improvement from last night ... still painful but the sores are dissapearing... i never thought that would help but it is... pass it on lol
It could be oral Herpes, or hand, foot and mouth disease. Both will clear up on their own. If it is hand foot and mouth disease, you may also have a rash on the palms of your hands, and the bottom of your feet, and this can be caught by walking barefoot at a pool, locker room, etc. It mostly affects children, but has appeared in young adults.
