fuzzy head??

ktf
Hi in around April last year my son age 11 years became very ill with an abscess that we could not see until xray (so ill they thought he has swine flu) , approx 1 month before this he started complaining of a `fuzzy`head, now after at least 10 courses of antibiotics, 1 failed root canal-they drilled to release pressure and no fluid came out so did a temporary filling in it- now we are waiting to have the tooth out under a general as he has a needle phobia.
During all this time he says his fuzzy head feeling has not gone at all, the dentist told me he had heard of this before in patients but was not sure what the cure for it is and the dental consultant says its a possible cause but not certain and i was wondering if any one on here had heard of this happening and what i can do to help him, his school work has suffered, he is not himself at all, has gone off food (not through pain though) he cannot concentrate and is starting to feel depressed, he has fell over several times and wants to hide away, can an abscess cause this amount of misery?
Thanks in advance
Kerri

I too have a fuzzy head and sound like an older version of your son. I do feel for him as some days I feel like putting my head through a  wall. I am  a 38 year old male and have been suffering for about years with it. I have lactose and fructose malabsorption (suggest you get him checked for these by a  breath test). The gastro-enterologist I saw believes people with fructose issues have 'fuzzy' head issues. I have been on a low fructose diet and it has helpeda bit but not completely. On a chat website for people with  fructose they believe amines are the cause for the fuzzy head. That is, if you suffer from fructose having too much amines causes the fuzzy head. I am now trialing a low amine diet. I have also read about Candida causing a fuzzy head and am about to pursue getting rid of this to rule this out.

Best of luck.

Hi thanks for your response, i did ask the doctor if it could be sugar related but thinking about it we did not investigate further and i have noticed his mood changes after he has eaten something with a lot in, the only thing is, is that he is a REALLY fussy eater and only eats a handful of things, i think i will go and ask if they can test him though as maybe if it is that he will try other foods if he realises he will feel better, as for Candida he does take probitics for that as a while ago i read that can upset your stomach and he has always had stomach ache, he has a slow dilating colon and a fatty liver, an extremely slow digestive system which means he should eat 5 meals per day trouble is he is always feeling full even before attempting to eat!
Got my work cut out you could say!
Many thanks again and i hope you get sorted.
