hematoma

i went in for routine filling on a top molar, needle punctured a vein and caused a hematoma on my cheek area, its been 5 days and seems to have gotten a bit better, but still hurts and sometimes feels like my cheek wants to cramp , hurts to press on it , first two days seemed like i had a golf ball in my cheek, its recently decreased swelling and sorta moved down my face a bit and is turning yellow and purple like a bruise , my mother says it looks much better, but doesn't feel better . im doing warm salt water rinses  every 3-4 hours , taking penicillin vk every 8 hours, eating arnica pills and applying topical arnica ointment , doctor wants to see me Tuesday (that'll be one week since it happened) im very anxious about it and sorta worried , any help will be appreciated , thanks

It just takes some time for the area to heal.  As long as its making progress, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Hope that helps to reassure your concern.  The antibiotics are definitely good to take as it'll prevent any infection.  Basically the swelling is due to the hematoma and not due to pus and infection.  Hope you feel better.

yeah last 2 days the hematoma has gotten better, seems the saltwater rinses help , its gotten yellow/green/purple and swelling has decreased significantly, now its only tender and when i bend over there's only slight pressure,   thanks for replying
