implant or bridge?

I am 25 and need to replace a missing tooth. I am undecided between implant and bridge. My dentist has told me that normally for people my age he would advise implants, however, since my adjacent teeth have fillings, he told me that I should strongly consider a bridge. However, I am afraid of the damage that may be caused to the adjacent teeth.

What do you think?

Thanks!

its just a matter of your choice, both treatment are practical... but implants are preferred in this case. its a single tooth replacement. and you are not that old...
its a matter or patient preference, if you dont have financial issue i suggest you go for implant..
Bridges transfer the occlusal load of the replaced tooth to the adjacent teeth.. anyway as you said its just a single tooth and that load wont harm.

If implant is placed by an experienced dentist, there would not be adverse effect on adjacent tooth.

that's why i think i would go for an implant. but the dentist has told me to consider bridges since adjacent teeth have fillings, especially one of them is heavily filled! so, as such, the bridge would reinforce them :S

So what i recommend is an implant to replace the missing tooth and if the adjacent teeth need crowning, you can have them crowned without connecting them with a bridge. that would be perfect but may cost you
