My wife had a wisdom tooth extracted 6 months ago. She has recurring infections. The dentist continues to prescribe anti-biotics and swelling occurs after she comes off anti-biotics. An mri has shown she has bone infection and now needs intravenous anti-biotics for six months. The surgeon said he has never seen this before, . Could he have done something during the procedure to cause this?
Go back to your dentist, he needs to xray the gum and make sure there's not more going on as a result of the extractions. You obviously still have some infection, so don't allow him to push you around. Go back and have him check it again, the remaining infection needs to be addressed. The draining is good, it's getting the infection out, but the source still needs to be addressed. Two weeks is too long for you to still be having an infection, and it sounds like it may be spreading. If you don't get any satisfaction from your dentist, tell him you want all your records and seek medical help.
