missing piece of tooth

Hey. So I'm missing half of my tooth. It's on the top, right next to my front tooth on the left side. I can post a pic but not sure if we can on here. Just curious what will the treatment mostly be, besides xray of course.

Thank you so much. I pray I do need root canal. Not because I'm scared but cause of the cost. But I think I may need one..

I am not a professional, but I have been going through a lot of dental procedures over the last 2 decades of my life and I also have broken teeth and pretty much have been through it all. If it has a deep cavity in it, they would want to do a root canal and crown. If it doesn't have a cavity then they would most likely just build a tooth off your other half. I've had both those things done.
