Can flagyl help Tooth infection ?

I went to the free clinic and they gave me flagyl but it was very much a free clinic in the sense I could tell they didn't know what they were talking about in most cases (I overheard them tell someone men can't get yeast infections...) and now I'm wondering if flagyl will even help my tooth because I thought it was more for gastric issues. Any idea?

And after 3 days, one can have alcohol? And if he had taken within these 3 days only, then there is any issue? If yes, what would be the solution for it?

Flagyl is okay for oral infections, but don't drink any alcohol while taking or for 3 days after finishing it.

I thought flagyl was used to fight protozoan infections. Are there protozoan infections of the mouth?
