need advise

i've got the pain in my left salivary gland after taking first bite of food , the pain is a sharp acidic pain ,,, I need to know the proper rout as to which physician I need to see for this matter ,,, I don't want to be on a wild goose chase ,,oral surgeon ? dentist ? whoooooo ?

yes ok thanks ,,,I did not want to think it was tmj because I have no problem chewing ,,,I get achy in the area of the jaw joint at times due to the gland being sore ,, but not clicking or locking happens ,, soreness under ear ,, when it it first occurred it felt like I had a bruise on side of face at jaw joint to my ear up to around my temple ,, seemed more like an infection because in middle of sleep I kept waking from throat irritation like something was draining from my ear to my throat from the canal inside connection from ear to throat ,,idk ,, I guess I will have to check tmj specialist n go from there ,, thank you scott

Your descriptions suggest tmj pain instead of parotid gland pain. Seeing a tmj specialist is advised.
