root canal

4 days after a root canal on my front incisor  my upperlip and face is still swollen  and sore around the nose area

thank you very much i'm feeling a bit better today is the 5th day nd my lip is not very swollen it's moved on over t my cheek but better thank you i will try the rinsing .

There's a good possibility it's from the novocaine shots you would have received to numb the area before the root canal procedure.  Palate shots, if you had them, go deep and can be very painful.  The soreness can take quite some time to resolve.  Swelling is usually always at it's worst around day three and goes down quickly after.

Try rinsing your mouth with warm salt water (1/8 - 1/4 tsp in 8oz warm water) a few times a day to promote healing.  The swelling and soreness should go away over the next 10 days.
