sore on my right side of tongue

experiencing off and on seemingly stabbing pain on right side of my tongue with a sore for more than a month now. What is the proper action to do? According to my dentist it was not a result grinding teeth or whatsoever, what do you think will it be?

Seeing an oral medicine or Orofacial pain specialist is advised.

It could be a canker sore that has developed as a reaction to either a food, lack of sleep, stress, or another unknown reason. I'd have it checked for sure asap. Oral cancer quite often first presents itself on the lateral (side) tongue so you want to rule this out. It may be something as harmless as a canker sore though so don't worry.

Both dentists didn't see anything serious like I said and a few doctors have seen picture of its changes and I was told its nothing serious and a benign condition. It also never bleeds and it defnitly isn't a cancer sore
