I know your pain I too have a small white bump on the tip of my tongue and it is bothersome. I seems as if I had irritation on the side of my tongue a couple of times and now this! It is located on the under side of the tip and the pain is horrific. It is also a little numb feeling! I too would like to find out what this is  so I am going to make an appointment to have it looked at. If you find out anything before I do please share. I am a bit scared because I smoked years ago, before children, while I was in collage and now that I have small childern I do not want to find out anything bad about myself -husband or them...I have been under alot of strain, pressure and stress with very little sleep for the past two months because of work and holidays. Maybe there is something to that. Lets hope that is all it is!  Good Luck.

I also have soreness on the back of my tongue, and now a sore throat to accompany it.  Depending on how I move my tongue, it sort of hurtsm like there may be a sore of some kind.  Is it possible that I am biting it in my sleep?

I too discovered a sore on the side of my tongue on Monday.  ( today is Wednesday )  it is large and really red irritated and it looks black and blue around the edge.  There is also one spot that is black and blue on the end of my tongue. I do have a bad tooth or so on that side that need attention and I had the flu over the past weekend and was vomiting quite forcefully.
Have you ever heard of such a thing?
I am really scared right now.
Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
I would wait 7 to 10 days for the sore to heal if it does not I would consult an oral surgeon for a diagnosis.I doubt if it is cancerous but any sore that does not heal must be investigated.
